Welcome to the first post of this blog.

I thought I’d start with a quick introduction and why this blog.

My name is Shanna Anderson. I love Jesus.

He is MY KING FOREVER

I am wife to James since 1990. Mother to Jared (24), his wife Hannah, and Leah (22). Being a wife and mother have been and are the ‘highest calling’ I have had. After typing that out, I had to go back and put quotes on it. Because truly, I am more than that. I am a Jesus-follower, and that is the highest. Being a wife and mother have been what He called me to do. And I am hugely blessed.

I have had a relationship with Jesus since I was 8. But in 2005 while undergoing the hardest season in my life so far, I became dependent on Him and His Word to be able to make it through and lead my steps. It began for me a whole new life where being with Him and reading the Scriptures were no longer a task, but a craved lifeline. I can say this is the reason for any truly good in me and any good thing in my life. After finishing a career of raising kids and homeschooling, I continue my 31-year paid part-time job, but now have more time to spend studying. I have realized the more I follow this adventure of finding gems of God Himself, the more I love Him and the Scriptures.

I especially love when there seems to be a contradiction, because it usually means there’s a precious treasure to be excavated. I love when my mind gets blown by Him. I often feel like there’s something just ‘shut up in my bones’ that just needs to get out and be shared. So that’s the reason for this blog. To get what God is revealing in His Word to me, how it’s intertwining with what He is asking the next step to be, and having a place to share that. To get it out so I don’t explode with the richness. 🙂

So, welcome.

I pray that what I post is an encouragement. And perhaps a place to interact and have conversation leading to lives that are most useful and delightful to the King.
